The renowned Aviv Quartet has, after many years, a new leader. Its founder Sergey Ostrofsky decided to stand down to devote his time to teaching and to his solo career.

Taking over as leader is the young French virtuoso violinist, Anna Göckel. Born in 1992, Anna Göckel has already graced several of the world’s greatest stages, from Tokyo to the Mexico Opera. Passionate at a young age about the world of chamber music, she founded the Karénine Trio, and at twenty-one years of age she won with this ensemble the prestigious ARD International Music Competition in Munich. She shared with this trio five intensive years of musical exploration and concerts.

This is an exciting time for the Aviv Quartet and with Anna it is sure to go to even greater heights. They already have a very busy schedule and we look forward to their concert in London in  November 2024.
